Russell Peters

Russell Peters, recently named one of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Comics of All Time, began his stand-up journey at open mic nights at just 19 years old in his hometown of Toronto. Over the next 15 years, he honed his craft in comedy clubs across Canada and the UK.

Peters shot to global fame in 2004 with his CTV Comedy Now! special, becoming the first comedian to sell out Toronto’s Air Canada Centre in 2007. He has since set attendance records at iconic venues like Madison Square Garden, the Sydney Opera House, and London’s O2 Arena, where he broke the UK record for the largest comedy show.

Peters’ comedy has been captured in several acclaimed specials, and in 2013, he became the first comedian to produce a Netflix Original Comedy Special.
