ABOUT

John Cain Arena has long been the home of the most iconic and world-class event experiences Australia has to offer.

The venue is notably acclaimed for hosting the Australian Open, as well as Melbourne’s most celebrated sport and entertainment events.

John Cain Arena is home to a range of professional sporting teams, including Melbourne United and South East Melbourne Phoenix (Basketball), as well as the Melbourne Vixens and Collingwood Magpies (Netball).

Melbourne & Olympic Parks acknowledges the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation as Traditional Owners of the land on which the precinct is located and recognise their ongoing connection to this land, and rich culture. We pay respects to their Elders past, present and future.

OUR HISTORY

Opened in 2000, this $65 million arena was developed as a flexible, multipurpose venue.
