Melbourne & Olympic Parks (M&OP) will proudly host Victoria’s annual chance to see the best gymnasts from 32 countries, welcoming them to our city over the next four days.
The competition floor will be filled with Olympians, Commonwealth Games medalists and World Championship competitors, all eyeing podium positions and qualifying points for Tokyo 2020.
International stars including favourites from the Netherlands, Italy, Great Britain, Uzbekistan, Brazil, Slovenia and China are here to compete on their best apparatus for World Cup points.
Supporting Australia’s renowned sporting prowess and diversity is a privilege each year, when Melbourne Arena showcases memorable and spectacular talents which drive and inspire athletes and spectators alike.
Gymnastics Australia CEO Kitty Chiller said the event was a fantastic opportunity for the Australian athletes to compete on the world stage.
“Our athletes will have the chance to compete against the best gymnasts in the world in their own backyard with home crowd support,” Ms Chiller said.
M&OP are honoured to share a special history and involvement with gymnastics, dating back more than a decade since the first 2005 World Gymnastics Championships at Melbourne Arena Melbourne Park has since seen many notable occasions and competitions over the years, including the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in 2006 at Rod Laver Arena and highly anticipated championships since 2014 at Melbourne Arena.
